Mr M was socialising with a group of friends in a nightclub when he saw a friend being attacked by a group of men. Our client went over to intervene by pulling one of the assailants away from his friend. The next thing Mr M knew was that he was being carried away by a bouncer and was bleeding heavily on the right side of his head. An ambulance was called where he was taken to the hospital and had 18 stitches for the injury to his head.
After reading the case studies on Clearwater Solicitors criminal injury compensation page Mr H made contact with our specialist personal injury case opening team where he went through the circumstances, upon acceptance of the case the case was transferred over to Sohail Ahmed who specialises in assault injury claims.
Criminal injury compensation claims are dealt with by the Criminal Injury Compensation Authority (CUCA) who ultimately assesses the merits of the case before deciding on the level of compensation they will award.
– In order to aid this decision we kept an updated record of the client’s injuries and responded promptly with any requested information when asked.
– Mr M’s claim took a year to settle but we ensured we kept him updated as and when we had an update and corresponded with CICA on a regular basis given our client confidence in the work we were doing for him.
CICA awarded Mr M £3,120.00 in compensation for the injuries he suffered as a result of the attack.
