Well Together Group Warns Workers Of Construction Dust Danger
2nd September 2013
Construction workers have been invited to learn about the dangers posed by dust, potentially reducing the number of industrial disease claims and accident at work compensation claims.
This event will take place on September 20th in Coalville, Leicestershire, and is organised by the Well Together Group.
Every year, around 500 people lose their lives as a direct result of dust inhalation, with some hazardous dust-producing materials including sandstone, gypsum, mortar, wood and concrete.
Workers who regularly breathe in construction dust over a long period of time can develop serious lung diseases, including cancer.
The event aims to improve awareness among managers, operatives, supervisors and construction workers of the danger of dust and how this risk can be controlled.
